Remember that Anthro book case I posted about last week? When I was making it, I had some leftover wood slivers. So I decided to make a pencil holder with them.
I took two 1-inch pieces, stacked them on top of each other and glued them together. Then I drilled five holes evenly across the wood pieces. The drill ended up stripping the top layer of wood (I guess that’s the nature of plywood), and made the top of the pencil holder looking pretty bad.
Luckily the dark stain helped to mask the wood that got stripped off. I put on two layers of stain, making sure to scrub the holder down with steel wool after each round.

I especially liked that I could fit my craft scissors on the pencil holder. Not too shabby, right?
