It’s fun to get Valentines, especially if they’re made just for you. My senior year in high school, one of the boys in my class gave every girl a thoughtfully (hand) written note, and a rose. Maybe he went a little overboard, but created a buzz.

Since most of us don’t have the luxury of hand writing a note to all our friends/coworkers for V-Day, I thought I’d share a easy way to create a buzz around the valentines you give out. Check out my V-Day treats & bags tutorial on the Umba Box blog for a quick and easy way to jazz up your valentines!

Jeff and I were watching the Hard Work documentaries on the HELM Boots site today, and I was so inspired that I wanted to share them with you. Each clip in the series follows an artisan, telling the story of their trade and how they got into it. One common thread through all these stories is the passion in each of these artisans. They work hard, and they love what they do.

This is the one on Joshua, the founder and designer of HELM Boots..

Between watching these videos and writing the next post in my Driven series, I’m feeling so inspired.

Check out the other videos on the Helm site. Did I mention they’re beautifully shot?

My friend Andrea sent this to me today, and it was just what I needed. I’ve been struggling with contentment. It’s hard for me to feel good about myself, when there’s so much on facebook/instagram/twitter/pinterest to compare myself to. I know that’s wrong and ungrateful, but the feeling is hard to shake. Anyone else ever feel that way?

Anyhow, thanks Drea for the reminder to not mope around! Hope this inspires you too!
