weekend roundup
Oh boy, did the weekend fly by! I wish I had slept more and ate less, but it’s too late for that. This weekend was very chill; we spent most of the time with Jeff’s best friend Richard and his wife Kelly, who were visiting from Ohio. It was Kelly’s first time to visit Texas, so we had to take her to do some Texasy things.

I started off the weekend by going to the Shabby Sheep for some yarn. I swear, that place is a time vacuum. It was only fitting that this tree in front of the store was yarn bombed.
two
quality time with Nat and Rafa! It had been a while since we got to hang out, so I was happy. We had a super late lunch at the Spiral Diner in Oak Cliff. It’s a vegetarian/vegan place, and even Rafa (a dude) likes it. I’ve been trying to convince Jeff to go, but that hasn’t happened yet.

we took Richard and Kelly to go skeet shooting at the gun range. It was a very Texan thing to bring someone to do on their first visit to the Lone Star State. This pic is of Kelly, taking her first couple shots. It was fun – a lot more fun than when we shot handguns back in November.
four
this is the skillet ‘mac and cheese’ from the Meddlesome Moth. The Moth is a gastropub with awesome food and a ton of beers (both on tap and bottled). Richard, the beer aficionado, was in heaven. Jeff found a new fave stout (The Yeti). We want to buy some and make stout floats some time in the near future. Perhaps with some sea salt caramel Häagen-Dazs?
So that’s the weekend, in a nutshell. Is it Friday yet?
