my crochet christmas tree

I finished my crochet Christmas tree over the weekend, and I’m proud of it. It makes me happy! I bought the pattern from Planet June, and started it on the way to Oklahoma last weekend. The tree stands 5.5-inches tall, and is stuffed with some old-but-clean socks (I didn’t have cotton batting around).

I crocheted the green base first, using worsted weight yarn.
Then I crocheted the star and sewed it to the top of the tree.
The tree is currently sitting on my desk at work, bringing some holiday cheer. I’ve got more green yarn, so I will be making more of these. Too bad I didn’t make them sooner!

I love this! And using old socks for stuffing is clever :-)

Gotta be resourceful, right? And it’s a good use of those socks where you can’t find the other in the pair!
